Does anyone here genuinely consider the Cartier Diabolo a true classic, or is it just an obscure oddity getting dragged out now that collectors are desperate for “the next thing”? I keep seeing Diabolos hyped up lately, but compared to Cartier’s icons-Tank, Santos, Crash-they seem forgettable and even a bit generic (especially the later quartz versions). Apart from the whimsical crown, does this reference really merit the rising collector attention, or is it just market exhaustion from everything else going stratospheric?
Would be good to hear actual owners’ perspectives: how does it wear, does it feel like a Cartier, and do you think it has staying power or is this just another brief speculative spike?
